Laura Facchin is a children’s book author living in New York’s beautiful Hudson Valley.
As a former journalist and magazine editor, I have been writing for my entire career. Leaving the workforce in 2014 afforded me the privilege of not only following my true literary calling — children’s fiction — but also to be inspired daily by my two young children.
I now focus my professional energy on developing children’s stories, with a long-term goal of creating a quality body of work featuring children’s literature that is rich, engaging, and sensitive to the needs and dreams of children and caregivers alike. I believe that the books we read as a child become part of us in more profound ways than any other reading in our lives, and I would love an opportunity to become a part of that!
I live in the Hudson Valley in upstate New York with my awesome husband Tim, two children Emilia (the nutty professor) and Graham (the nutty performer) and my silly corgi Kerby (short for Kerberos Ezekiel, of course). When I’m not writing I love to make all kinds of art — from drawings and paintings to sewn and needle felted creations — relax outdoors, and eat as many delicious things as I can get my hands on!
